The position is responsible for providing
strategic and administrative oversight for
all activities related to the
identification, cultivation, resource
development and solicitation of annual,
planned, and major gifts from internal and
external constituencies. The position will
develop public relations materials to
enhance SCNM/SNMC's institutional image and
promote fund raising programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate existing SCNM/SNMC
Development/Advancement programs and
implement a comprehensive plan that
identifies both short-term and long-term
strategic goals and related action steps.
These goals will enhance the visibility and
external financial resources through
increased foundation, corporate and
individual giving.
2. Design and implement a comprehensive
capital campaign that meets the strategic
goals and mission of SCNM.
3. Establish a professional work environment
between Development and all departments in
order to foster an atmosphere of teamwork
and open dialogue to enhance overall
productivity and success.
4. Serve as a mentor and leader to members
of the Development staff and hire qualified
employees as opportunities dictate.
5. Research public and private grant
agencies and foundations to identify other
sources of funding for all areas of SCNM/SNMC.
6. Develop best practices that demonstrate
SCNM Development's commitment towards
enhancing all aspects of fundraising and
external relations opportunities.
7. Work closely with the President/CEO to
develop a culture of giving among20the
College community including, senior level
administrators, trustees, alumni, patients
and friends.
8. Coordinate community initiatives and
develop strategies and programs to improve
community relations and partnerships. Serve
as a liaison between SCNM and external
organizations such as local and regional
chamber of Commerce, civic groups,
government and non-profit agencies in
promoting a positive image of SCNM.
9. Provide leadership and build positive
relationships with internal and external
constituencies including faculty, staff,
students, alumni, donors, legislative
representatives and friends of SCNM.
10. Develop, maintain and utilize the donor
database to increase communication with
friends, donors and other supporters.
11. Plan and oversee giving events such as
the Red Ball.
12. Continue to improve the donor
recognition program.
13. Other special projects as determined by
the CEO/President.
14. Create and manage departmental budget.
Reports to:
President, Dr. Paul Mittman
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree
with approximately 10 years or more of
development and grant funding related
experience. Knowledge of local and national
philanthropic community and ability to
market the college to a high profile
audience desired.

Compensation:
